CHRISTMAS RAISIN GINGERSNAPS

3/4c butter Cream together butter and sugar. Beat in egg and molasses. Sift together flour, baking soda, salt, and spices; add to creamed butter mixture. Mix in raisins. Chill dough 1/2 hour. Roll dough into 1" thick balls and roll in additional sugar (optional). Place 2" apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake in preheated 375F oven for 8-10 minutes.

2-1/4c flour
2t baking soda
1t ginger
1 /2t cinnamon
1t salt
1/4t cloves
1-1/2c raisins
