About Me

I am a born and bred Canadian. I was born in Niagara Falls, Ontario on May 21, 1977, but I grew up in Glassville, New Brunswick. I have long, [naturally] chestnut brown hair. I have what I thought were hazel eyes, but friends insist they are green. I went to Mount Allison University in Sackville, New Brunswick, Canada for two years studying in the Bachelor of Fine Arts program. For reasons beyond my control, I had to postpone my studies after completing only half (two years) of my degree. But, liking the small town setting, I decided to uplift my roots and settle here on my own.

.

I am a second assistant manager at McDonalds. It's not the most glamourous job, but it pays the bills until I can go to school to study archeology.

I've been collecting recipes since about the age of 12. I used to just grab the ones on the grocery store shelves, bring them home and stick them into my (very small) "Victoria Plum" canvas purse. As my collection grew, I needed more space for my recipes, so they found a new home in an old purple make-up case that my mother had given to me for doll clothes. (I can't remember where I put the doll clothes.) My mother gave me at one point, her old metal recipe box. I think it was at that point I felt like I was starting to grow up. As of this moment, my collection of recipes hand-written in my recipe boxes totals over 1000. It is something I love and wanted to share with everyone. I have a dream someday to own and cook in my own restaurant. Someday.

Something that everyone knows about me...I am an absolute Star Trek nut! I'm a trekker, a fanatic about all four shows, all eight movies etc. For some of my sci-fi ramblings and obsessions, you can just visit my other page, A Star Trekker's Almost Paradise.

Other useless facts about me: My favourite colours are green and brown, I love all kinds of music except rap/trance/techno/country, my favourite movie of all time is 'Braveheart', I can't stand Tom Green's antics on TV, I really don't care if Rachel picks Ross or Joey on Friends, I'm addicted to the Travel channel and Food TV Canada, I love Iron Chef and Nigella Bites and I have two cats (Trinket & Abby, pictured left) and one gerbil (Anakin). Sadly, my other gerbil (Sisko) died during the first few weeks of November, 2002. And that's it.
