NUTS & SEEDS BREAD
1-1/2c all purpose flour
In large bowl, combine flours, baking powder, soda, salt, brown sugar, nuts, wheat germ, and seeds. Mix together egg, buttermilk and oil; add to dry ingredients, stirring just until blended. Turn batter into grased 9x5" loaf pan. Bake in 350F oven for 1 hour or until tester inserted in centre comes out clean. Let cool in pan for a few minutes, then turn out onto rack to finish cooling. Makes 1 loaf.
1/2c whole wheat flour
1t baking powder
1t baking soda
1/2t salt
1c lightly packed brown sugar
1/2c chopped nuts (your choice)
2T wheat germ
2T sesame seeds
2T poppy seeds
1 egg, beaten
1c buttermilk
1/4 c vegetable oil
